Sunshine Chilly
The forecast for a couple of days last week was "Sunshine, Chilly" and I thought that would be a cute title for something and since a blog is the only thing I currently write besides email, I thought I would use it for that.
As one of my husband's friends from Brazil so aptly put it, America is the only place he knows of where one can look outside at the sun and say to oneself, "My, what a beautiful day! The sun is so bright." So one goes outside without a coat on because one suspects it's going to be warm. Sun=warm most of the time. But instead of being greeted by sunshine to warm the bones, one is greeted with cold wind that cuts right through the skin to the bones.
And I have to say, isn't that the way life is sometimes. The irony of it all. Sometimes things that look inviting turn into biting. It's OK to sing that Alanis Morissette song at this point. Isn't it ironic, don't you think, a little too ironic...
And to be fair--sometimes (not nearly as often) things that start off cold and callous can turn out to be warm and sumptuous.
So the forecast for today--and most every day--is Sunshine Chilly.
