7-7-07 at 7:07

I thought long and hard about what I wanted to be doing at 7:07 on 7-7-07. And of course it had to fit into my schedule. With Daniel playing at a wedding and me trying to get some extra work done over the weekend, as I get ready for the missionaries from Turkey to arrive, this was a little hectic to schedule. I decided I wanted to be having coffee and writing at the appointed SEVEN time. So, here I sit at Cafe Michel in Smyrna, taking advantage of their free wi-fi, having a cappucino with lots of froth and life is good for a few moments.

There were other things I could have been doing--a project from work, things for church, ironing, getting a mani/pedicure--but I thought a better way to commemorate such an important time would be writing. I love to write. I just wish I could do it for a living.

I'm very excited about my fav Turkish evangelist and his family coming to town, but I have no percentage of the gift of hospitality. So this is a stretch for me. But isn't life about stretching.

So what do I write about on this awesome SEVEN time? What's in the news? There were thwarted terrorist attacks in the UK last weekend. This is where my news quote of the week comes into play. Apparently, a religious leader of some sort (not Islamic) was told by someone that "Those who cure you will kill you." He didn't know the importance of that statement until the attacks and the authorities found out those involved with the attacks were doctors. Doctors.

I heard a story today about a lady who has taken it upon herself to paint portraits of the soldiers who have been killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The story touched me so that I cried. What a beautiful way to serve the families who've lost a loved one.

What else? Life is good and God is great. People are people and the world is crazy. What else can I say?

While doing the power point for church today, about being pure in heart, I found a cool pix called Catharsis, which means purging. It's by some guy named Derek Lea.

I remember one Seinfeld episode where a couple wanted to name their daughter SEVEN. I guess if a child were born today, that would be totally cool.

When I grow up, I want to write like C.S. Lewis. His quote about "maybe I was meant for another world" was so awesome! So perfect! And we're showing a clip from Chronicles at church tomorrow, to go with the purity theme.

Happy, blessed SEVEN!
