20:13 Verses
This isn't a normal post. But then, I post to my blog so infrequently that I don't know what normal is anymore.
Sometimes I find myself researching out-of-the-ordinary subjects in the Bible. Since it was turning 2013, I decided to search for all verses in the Bible that are verse 20 chapter 13, just to see what they say. Some are interesting, some are promises to hold, and some would probably get me banned from certain social media.
Not so many come from the New Testament, as the books are shorter. I know the stories related to some of the verses and others are obscure. I thought I would share my findings on my sadly-neglected blog (maybe that's what I should rename it). I've bolded my favorites:
20:13 Verses
And when God had me wander from my father's household, I said to her, ‘This is how you can show your love to me: Everywhere we go, say of me, “He is my brother.” ‘ ” (Genesis 20:13) “
‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13)
These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord and where he showed himself holy among them. (Numbers 20:13)
Now surrender those wicked men of Gibeah so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel.” But the Benjamites would not listen to their fellow Israelites. (Judges 20:13)
But if my father is inclined to harm you, may the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away safely. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father. (1 Samuel 20:13)
After Amasa had been removed from the road, all the men went on with Joab to pursue Sheba son of Bicri. (2 Samuel 20:13)
Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord .’ ” (1 Kings 20:13)
Hezekiah received the messengers and showed them all that was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine oil—his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them. (2 Kings 20:13)
All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. (2 Chronicles 20:13)
though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth, (Job 20:13)
Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare. (Proverbs 20:13)
Sing to the Lord ! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked. (Jeremiah 20:13)
” ‘Yet the people of Israel rebelled against me in the desert. They did not follow my decrees but rejected my laws—although the man who obeys them will live by them—and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and destroy them in the desert. (Ezekiel 20:13)
“But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn't you agree to work for a denarius? (Matthew 20:13)
“Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.’ (Luke 20:13)
They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don't know where they have put him.” (John 20:13)
We went on ahead to the ship and sailed for Assos, where we were going to take Paul aboard. He had made this arrangement because he was going there on foot. (Acts 20:13)
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. (Revelation 20:13)
